The course teaches the basics of keyboard technique focusing mainly on having an understanding of the instrument, learning how to play and perform simple melodies, songs and classical pieces with the help of reading Staff Notation for both hands. The course is divided into two parts Beginners I and Beginners II, giving you a bundle of learning the techniques of piano playing, music theory, learning how to read music as staff notation and also builds one’s sight reading skills. In order to apply for this course, the students should have completed the Begnniers I course. Through this course, the students will be able to express their musical ideas and feelings, use their creativity, imagination and intuition for the pieces and songs they learn, develop their skills, knowledge and understanding of the instrument and reflect on and evaluate their progress.

Objectives

  • To prepare students for the Trinity Electronic Keyboard Grade 3 examination
  • Students will be able to little sight reading.
  • The students will gain understanding on Music theory, gain musical vocabulary to enhance our performance skills.
  • Skills & Techniques of playing Electronic Keyboard. 
  • The students will also learn to play songs from TCL grade 3 and some popular songs.

  

  • Students should have taken the Trinity Grade 3 Electronic Keyboard examination or covered all the pieces for the same (Taking the 201-203 courses)**
  • Materials Required: Trinity College of London - Electronic Keyboard - Grade 3 book

    ** Students who have not cleared the Grade 2 exam or KEY104-105 course will have to get a counselling session done to acertain if they are indeed ready to learn content from Grade 3.

Student should be able to:

  • Play a minimum of 3 pieces (through all courses of grade 5)
  • Play technical work as expected in the examination
  • Able to sight read upto grade 3 level
  • Have knowledge of grade specific music theory
