Students between the ages 9-12 could enrol

<ul>
<li>To sing the seven Swaras with attention of stability of note</li>
<li>To learn about the Tanpura and the Tabla while developing an understanding of Sur and Taal</li>
<li>To do patterning with Swaras of the Shuddh Swar Saptak, the natural scale</li>
<li>To introduce voice exercises through simple Swar Sadhana exercises with vowel sounds</li>
<li>To learn a song with awareness of Sur, Laya and the meaning </li>
<li>To co-ordinate singing with rhythm; developing the sense of Laya and Taal</li>
<li>To learn the aspect of pronunciation in lyrics</li>
</ul>

The student is able to 
<ul>
<li>sing the Seven Swaras (Shuddh Swar Saptak) in Swar and Aakar in Laya</li>
<li>Create and sing simple Swara patterns</li>
<li>demonstrate rhythm of 2 and 3 while singing Alankar.</li>
<li>sing Swaras and patterns using vowel sounds like Aakar, iikar </li>
<li>sing one prayer in Sur, Taal and with correct diction </li>
</ul>

4 weeks, one 45 mins lesson per week

This course is ideal for students looking to take their first steps into the world of Hindustani Vocal Music. The course aims at providing a strong foundation where learning is a process of constant discovery.
 The course will lay the foundation for acquiring clarity of voice and teach how to focus on the stability of the note and match pitch with the Tanpura. The student develops listening skills with an exploratory outlook in addition to acquiring knowledge. 
 The OM book has got study material, reference reading material and listening material. The student learns a prayer that initiates the student into classical music.
