The Raga deep dive courses are aimed at internalising Raga concepts. In this Raga Deepdive course Raga Todi is explored. Todi is a concert favourite morning Raga. Perfect Sur in the notes of this Raga can be achieved by complete focus and Swar Sadhana. Todi is an Aalap oriented Raga. The Swaras express pathos. Interestingly, Todi also portrays the end of the dark night leading to a new beginning. Paltas and a variety of Taan patterns are practised to perfection in Drut Laya, though the characteistic feature of Todi is the depth of Aalap. The Bada Khayal in set to Jhumra and Chhota Khayal is in Drut Ektaal.
