No prior knowledge is mandatory, but having a basic understanding of basic musical terminologies and the guitar is suggested. Access to a guitar and metronome is requred.

One Class of 45 Minutes Duration per Week

The course provides a solid fundamental to get you started playing guitar and music in general. Students start off with developing an awareness in identifying the different parts of the instrument. This then translates in learning the names and numbers of the six strings. By the time they are in Week 6, they have already started diving into musical performances through the songs Mary Had a little Lamb, Yankee Doodle and Blues in C. Students will also learn to identify and play a major and minor chord. The course also incorporates two of the widely used scales in music including the open position C Major scale and the minor Pentatonic scale. By the end of the course they build a solid understanding for power chords, aural training (including melodic and rhythmic recall)
