Here , the learning done so far is going to help understand and create an entire pallavi. This is purely the creation of the student. Here the student learns what goes into making a pallavi. What are the salient features to be kept in mind while creating a pallavi. How to make them mathematically interesting with a progression. What are the various ways in which the same created pallavi can be rendered in different thalas. What is anuloma and pratiloma? How to sing the pallavi in different speeds , thisra etc. Then comes the actual performance itself of the pallavi , complete with raga, niraval , kalpana swara and raga malika swaras.

Objectives

One of the objectives of the course is to have students get acquainted with compositions of great composers such as Bhadrachala Ramdas,Sadshiva brahmendra, Muthiah Bhagavatar,  Maharaja Sawthi thirunal, Ambuja krishana along with the Trinity composers. The course also aims at introducing and training students to sing proficiently in rare ragams such as Devamanohari, Yadukulakambothi, Simhavahini, Vijayashri, Gowlipanthu and many more. The two compositions chosen in this course CV309 are ones in which student learns a kriti in Saveri and Kalyani each each and ragam,niraval, kalpana swara to all the ragas

Learning Outcomes

After completion of the module CV309 the student should be able to

Sing raga alapanas and swaras for all the ragas.

Sing the ragam , thanam , niraval and swaram for saveri ragam

Sing the compositions with perfection .

Those who have completed the CV308 from the Academy. Those who have trained in Carnatic music for at least 7 years and a strong foundation of Varnams, Kritis and singing kalpana swaras and alapanas.
