In this level, the highest of creativity that is the Ragam, thanam and Pallavi is honed in detail. The student understands how to sing a Naalu Kalai chowka Pallavi and create them too.They are taught to sing niraval and kalpana swaras to different placements and words in the pallavi.

Objectives

For a Masters course, content mastery will be approached with a big picture idea.Independent learning by the student with guided listening will be the prominent pedagogy.

In this course student is taught a Naalukalai pallavi.

The student understands how to sing a Naalu Kalai chowka Pallavi  and create them too.

They are also taught to do the Pallavi in the first kalam, Madhyama kalam and durita kalam.

They learn to sing the thisram and also do the anuloma and pratiloma 

 

Learning outcomes:

After the completion of CV408 the student should be able to:

Sing a Naalu Kalai Pallavi

Compose a Naalu Kalai Pallavi and perform it  too in detail with thisram  , Anuloma and Pratiloma and complete with Ragamalika swaras too.

Perform with a high level of musicianship as demonstrated through a developed technical skill, artistic interpretation, listening skills, and ability to perform jointly with an accompanist.

Undertake ongoing independent lifelong development as a performer, composer, or musicologist.

Those who have completed the CV408 from the Academy. Those who have trained in Carnatic music for at least 10 years and a strong foundation of Varnams, Kritis and singing kalpana swaras and alapanas as well as been introduced to Ragam, thanam and Pallavi singing.
