This course concentrates in honing the creative skills of the student who is now getting ready to enter the realm of concert performances. Kalpana Svaram in the second speed features in this course. A new concept in Kalpana Svaras called Korvais is explained. Korvais are interesting permutations and combinations of Svaras which are sung at the end of a long Kalpana Svara passage. Slow Tempo Krtis are taught. The Theory gives the student a detailed classification of Ragas (Ancient and Modern) which help to understand the Raga as a whole and Raga Lakshana.
Objectives
Learning difficult Krtis in slow tempo help the students to understand the the Raga in depth and prepares the student in the realm of creative music. Increasing the repertoire of Krtis is the best way to hone a students creative faculty and make him ready for concert performances.
Kalpana Svaram is a very important aspect of Manodharma Sangeetam and helps a student into becoming an accomplished performer.
Korvais are interesting permutations and combinations of Svaras which are sung at the end of a long Kalpana Svara passage like a grand finale to create an everlasting effect in a concert performance. It is an important aspect of concert singing. The student understands the concept of Korvais and its application in Kalpana Svarams. Korvais are the result of the happy blend of Math and music.
Classification of Ragas helps the student to understand Ragas on the basis of their classifications and analyse them further.
