In this course the student gets to learn one Ata Tala Varnam and some more major Krtis composed by eminent composers. The highlight of this course is the teaching of the most important aspect of Manodharma Sangeetham, (Creative Music) in the form of Kalpana Svaras in First Speed. Every student of Classical music aims at achieving prowess in the realm of creative music. Important seats of music are illustrated in the theory portions along with Raga Lakshanas.

• Ata Tala Varnams are intricate Varnams in a more difficult Tala. They are complicated in their structure as compared to Adi Tala Varnams and require more expertise inthe realm of Tala. It also helps to augment his/her knowledge of the structure of the raga and the tala.
• Learning weighty compositions will give a deep insight into the Ragas and help the student build their creative faculty.
• Krtis help the student understand the essence of the Raga, its special phrases and its beauty. The creative ability of a musician is directly related to his or her repertoire of Krtis.
• With the introduction of Kalpana Svaras we enter the realm of Manodharma Sangeetam or Creative improvised Music. Manodharma Sangeetham is the touchstone of Carnatic Music and it is therefore the acid test for ever aspiring performer. The penultimate goal of every student of music is to perfect the art of Manodharma Sangeetham which is the core of all concert performances in the present day.
• A detailed study of the important Seats of Music (Tanjore, Madras, Travancore and Mysore) takes the student through the historic growth and evolution of Carnatic Music over different periods and the regions that have contributed to its growth. 
• Raga Lakshana gives characteristic features and important details of the Ragas are given so that there is deeper and better understanding of the Raga as a whole.
